"One step from heaven" excursion

Visit the Dolomites

You may be wondering where we want to take you with this excursion, but if you are a fan of the TV series "One Step from Heaven" you will have understood that we will go to one of the famous locations of the film set.

We are located in Misurina, at the foot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (BL), along the splendid lake of the same name.

Our tour touches some of the most beautiful areas of the Belluno Dolomites, Unesco heritage, with a very scenic loop ride.

Parked the car at the start of the chairlift that leads to Col de Varda, we begin to walk on the dirt road (trail sign 120a) that goes up under the ski lifts until we reach a first crossroads just below the Col de Varda refuge, excellent for a break refreshing after the climb. At the crossroads, turn right, staying on path 120a that leads to the Città di Carpi Refuge, where a breathtaking view of the Marmarole opens up.

A slight descent leads to the Bus de Pogofa locality where we turn right, always downhill (signs for Malga Maraia). Those wishing to lengthen can visit the Città di Carpi Refuge and go down to Malga Maraia directly along the marked path.

Crossing a wooded area, we soon reach the road which, following to the left, soon leads us to the splendid Malga, a film set that soon won the hearts of the crew and viewers.

The Malga has recently been renovated and used as a farmhouse, is located at the foot of the Cadini di Misurina, with a wonderful view of the Marmarole and Sorapiss Group, and is surrounded by green pastures.

After a lunch break with a tasting of excellent local products, we resume the journey going up the first stretch of the path taken to get to the Malga: first along the road then along the mule track with trail sign 120. After the bend, continue to climb up to at a small crossroads where we cross the electric fence at the point provided for the passage, we follow the path (trail sign 120b) which enters the wood. There is a "ups and downs" that will lead you to come out on the cycle path (dirt road) about 700 m from the starting point, thus arriving, after a while, on Lake Misurina.

Route about 15 km long with 600 m of elevation gain.
