Early morning departure with destiny Misurina. Once in the pearl of the Dolomites we head towards the former ski slope 'La Torre del Diavolo',… ..with us, mountaineering equipment and a lot of enthusiasm.
External temperature - 14, about 2 meters of snow fallen in the last month and 40cm of dust (dust = fresh snow fallen in the last few days). Optimal conditions!
Skis and skins on the feet and we begin the climb.
Not being very well trained we take some breaks to catch our breath and stretch our hands .... almost frozen. Fortunately, the fatigue is soon felt and hands and feet return to a human temperature.
After about an hour we see our destination in the distance. In front of us the Cadini and Forcella della Neve. Armed with good will we continue our excursion following some tracks made by some mountaineer who preceded us and, almost without realizing it
soon we find ourselves a few meters from the goal.
The last 50 meters are,… ..for us,… a bit hard… .conversions difficult to do on a fairly steep stretch.
We have reached the top !!!
We look around us, Forcella della Neve, Forcella Pogoffa, Cadin della Neve, Forcella del Nevaio and at the bottom of the valley the magnificent Misurina, white as never before.
Seeing so much wonder, we too,…. indigenous to the place, ... we remain open-mouthed.
Let's drink some hot tea, remove the skins and we are ready for the descent.
We begin to descend with magnificent snow that gives us a fun skiing, some "tumble", laughter and lots of fun.
Fantastic day, I cleared my mind, for a moment, I felt on top of the world and a thought filled my head… .. "Who cares if I go to hell…. But even today I touched heaven !!
